TERMITE PEST CONTROL
We live in an area of high termite activity here in SouthWest Florida. Termites randomly forage for wood, which is easily found in our homes. Although there are building codes for the treatment of wood and ground around foundations, the measures taken will not last forever. It’s just a matter of time before termites will find a way into your home. Call PestMax® to schedule your annual inspection for your home or business today.
Termites: Can They Really Eat My House?
Yes! Termites are the most destructive wood-boring insect in the U. S. according to the National Pest Management Association. They cost more than 5 billion dollars annually; more than floods and fires combined! They are so destructive that many lending institutions require a professional pest inspection prior to the sale of a property. PestMax® offers detailed real estate pest inspection reports that inform buyers of any potential as well as current termite infestations.

We inspect all accessible areas of the property for signs of termites. The lower areas of the home are focused on subterranean termites where we check under house crawlspace, garage, baseboards and trim along exterior walls as well as bath traps and other piping where termites may enter. The higher areas of the home we search for signs of Drywood termites such as in the attic, and eaves or other suspicious wood trim on the exterior.
We look for signs of wood damage, exit holes from swarmers, swarmer bodies and wings that have fallen at the windows and sliding doors, mud tubes from subterranean termites and any suspicious peeling of paint inside that may be a sign of termites or moisture behind the walls.
We look for areas that hold moisture both inside and out. Stucco that goes below grade, loose wood or mulch next to the house that may have termites moving through, drip lines and spigot areas and more.
Other Wood Destroying Organisms we are on the lookout for include many types of moisture and fungus rot, wood destroying beetles such as powder post, borers, furniture beetles and more as well as ants that like to carve out moist wood for a nest for their colony.
We have a live person to answer the phones and relay any messages every day of the week, even on holidays.
